Today Square Enix announced a brand new Bravely Default game for mobile platforms, titled Bravely Default brilliant Lights.
The new JRPG will launch for iOS and Android at some point down the line, and we get to take a look via the first trailer that you can watch below alongside the key artwork and first screenshots.
The character design is by Raita Kazama, while the battle system is optimized to play on smartphones.
Not only it’ll have original characters, but known faces from the past games of the series will also appear.
A release window has not been announced, but we know that the game is going to be (predictably) free to play with optional microtransactions.
Incidentally, Bravely Default Brilliant Lights is Square Enix’s way to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the original game, which launched on October 11th, 2013. We also learned that the series has achieved over 3 million cumulative shipments.
This isn’t the only prominent mobile game announced by Square Enix recently, as we also saw the reveal of one dedicated to Fullmetal Alchemist.
If you’d rather play a Bravely Default game on a console, there’s Bravely Default II, which launched earlier this year for Nintendo Switch.
