Does Sackboy have one of the largest wardrobes in PlayStation history? It has to be up there at the very least, doesn’t it? Think of all the outfits the little mascot has had throughout all his games, many of which came as DLC packs. He must have hundreds of costumes by now, and developer Sumo Digital is continuing the trend in the latest game.
Sackboy: A Big Adventure has been receiving various free costumes since its launch alongside the PS5 last November, such as Selene from Returnal, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart’s protagonists, and even a couple of characters from Destruction AllStars. However, the next DLC outfit brings back an old fan favourite.
The banana suit was first introduced to Sackboy via LittleBigPlanet on PSP in the Fruit Salad pack, and it became a bit of a meme among players. It stayed locked to that version of the game until an appearance in Ultimate Sackboy, a mobile game. Now, though, the costume — lovingly dubbed ‘Sacknana’ by the community — returns in A Big Adventure:
The outfit will be free of charge when it arrives on 20th August, and will seemingly come with an emote that apes the classic Sacknana dance. The reaction to this from fans has been pretty wonderful, as you can imagine, with lots of excited posts on Twitter, Reddit, and all that good stuff. Give the people what they want.
Anyway, are you happy to see the Sacknana make a return in Sackboy: A Big Adventure? Dance along to Peanut Butter Jelly Time in the comments section below.
