EA Play subscribers will be able to pass rush an early access trial of Madden NFL 22 from 12th August, and for Ultimate Team players there will be exclusive challenges reserved for the pre-release period. Those of you who dig into the popular team building mode will be able to complete time-limited challenges focusing on cover stars Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes, with exclusive power-ups for the iconic quarterbacks available, as well as an elite Wide Receiver.
Ultimate Team doesn’t sound massively different this year, with the biggest change coming to Team Chemistry. You’ll now be able to collect Strategy Items which you’ll need to apply to your overall squad in order to give it boosts in key areas. The theory is that it’ll be much easier to swap these in and out, meaning you’ll have more control over how your team performs on a game-by-game basis.
EA Sports is also adding the half-time adjustments from the core game to Ultimate Team, while there will be deeper stat-tracking on cards and a revised user interface. In addition, the MUT Level system has been reimagined to bring it more in line with FIFA 21, with your rank being reset every season and a fresh set of rewards up for grabs each time.
