Hollywood director joins studio on unnamed multiplatform project
Gunzilla Games announced recently that Hollywood director Neill Blomkamp has been named chief visionary officer.
He will join the studio on its unnamed multiplatform AAA shooter which is being developed by its teams in Los Angeles, Frankfurt, and Kyiv.
“As chief visionary officer, Neill will be a key member of our team,” said Gunzilla Games CEO and cofounder Vlad Korolev.
“Adding the perspective of filmmaking to video game development brings interactive entertainment to the next level. We all share the same vision, and Neill is the perfect completion to the narrative and visual art lead roles in our team.”
Blomkamp has written and directed films such as District 9, Elysium, and Chappie. He has shown interest in games before, as he was supposed to direct Peter Jackson’s Halo film.
