Death’s Gambit, the Souls-like metroidvania that release for PlayStation 4 in 2018, is about to get a massive free update titled Death’s Gambit: Afterlife. Basically, the update makes numerous, fundamental changes to how the game functions, and you can find all of the details in the overview trailer that we’ve embedded above.
With Afterlife, the title’s world size is essentially being doubled, which apparently makes it one of the biggest metroidvania games ever. Impressive stuff, and again, this is a free update if you already own Death’s Gambit.
There’s no concrete release date, however. Developer White Rabbit says that the update will come to Nintendo Switch first — at some point in 2024 — and then PC about a month later. Then, around one month after that, it’ll arrive on PS4.
