As someone who played Shadow of the Tomb Raider and found it relatively enjoyable earlier in the year, it’s nice to see Square Enix take the time to update the title for PlayStation 5 backwards compatibility. While we’re still waiting for Sony to patch key PlayStation exclusives like Uncharted, the Japanese publisher has rolled out v2.01 for Lara Croft’s South American romp which allows the title to run at 4K in 60 frames-per-second.
Previously, the options were a little bit limited on Sony’s next-gen console. You could run the game at 60 frames-per-second, but had to drop the resolution all the way down to 1080p to do so. Alternatively, all of the 4K modes were capped at 30 frames-per-second. This allows you to get the best of both worlds on PS5, which is great news if you’re yet to take the trip to Paititi yet.
If you’re looking for a list of more PS4 games enhanced through backwards compatibility, then some of the best examples of PS5 Game Boost are through the link.
