DLSS reportedly misses with your aim in Warzone.
DLSS only just recently arrived in Call of Duty: Warzone. It works there as it does everywhere else: offering players higher framerates for an image quality that is almost identical to native resolution.
Like other games, Warzone’s implementation of DLSS allows players to pick from different quality presets, which are designed to accommodate a wide range of PC specs and resolution/framerate targets. You may want to stick to native resolution, however, as a new report from YouTuber JGOD shows that DLSS causes your bullets to hit a little off from where they should.
In their video above, JGOD demonstrates this using different optics – long and mid-range – on different weapons. The process is simple: JGOD aims at a target and runs to see if the bullet lands where the centre of the reticle was pointing.
This experiment shows that DLSS causes sights to be ever-so-slightly misaligned, as the bullet lands to the right of where it should. This mainly kicks in with the Balanced quality of DLSS, and strangely gets worse the higher the quality gets. The effect is much more pronounced at Quality – the highest setting for DLSS.
Although the effect appears minimal, it’s likely going to be more pronounced the further away you get from your target. In Warzone, players often have to keep in mind bullet drop, and compensate to hit moving targets. If you think your shot was accurate, this slight misalignment could ruin it.
