The marketing cycle for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy seems to centre on out-of-context cut-scenes, but at least Square Enix is picking ones that feature new characters. Here we’re introduced to Grand Unifier Raker, the leader of the Universal Church of Truth. Our Google-fu informs us that this intergalactic faction first featured in some Strange Tales comics from the mid-70s, although it has also appeared in more recent Guardians of the Galaxy stories as well.
To be honest, it’s hard to extract a whole lot out of this cinematic, because it clearly occurs partway through the campaign and is presented here without any background information. Nevertheless, it all looks pretty enough and is a lot less awkward than the previous scene that the publisher picked to show.
